Special Education Teachers (Immediate Opening)
Start Date: ASAP (until End of the School Year)

Job Description:
United Staff Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to join our team near Springfield, MA. This is an elementary-level position (grades 1-5) working with students who require specialized support. The teacher will manage two small classes with a total caseload of approximately 5-6 students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Autism Support Class: Teach and support students diagnosed with autism, implementing tailored instructional methods and behavioral strategies to meet their unique needs.
  • Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Class: Lead a class focusing on students facing social and emotional challenges. Develop programs and activities that foster emotional regulation, social skills, and academic progress.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student.
  • Regularly assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to optimize learning outcomes.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment that encourages both academic and personal growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license.
  • Experience working with students with autism and/or social-emotional challenges is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Position Details:

  • This position beginning on August 26th till End of the School Year.
  • Small class sizes to provide focused attention to each student’s needs.
