Job Description

The Intervention Specialist provides specially designed instruction to students on their caseload, ensuring that instruction is appropriate for their abilities, subjects, and personal growth. This role involves collaborating with teachers and service providers to develop measurable goals and determine appropriate accommodations for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities:

– Provide individualized instruction and support to students with special needs
– Implement and monitor intervention strategies to address academic and behavioral goals
– Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
– Assess student progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed
– Utilize effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment
– Provide tutoring and support in various subject areas, including literacy education
– Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills development
– Support students in their overall childhood development, including social, emotional, and cognitive growth
– Utilize classroom technology and learning management systems (LMS) to enhance instruction

Skills:
– Strong knowledge of special education principles and practices
– Experience in providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs
– Proficiency in behavior management techniques and strategies
– Knowledge of literacy education methods and strategies
– Familiarity with childhood development stages and milestones
– Ability to effectively manage a classroom environment
– Experience with utilizing learning management systems (LMS) for instructional purposes
– Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals
– Previous experience in childcare or library services is a plus
